Another cold zoo day, everyone seems to be in the mood of napping. 😴 Except for the birds, who lives in a tropical climate controlled habitat, so they were very active and happy.

I promised my boss I would learn Blender when I had some free time at work. It just so happens that I had a week between projects that I could learn Blender from the infamous donut tutorial from the Blender Guru on YouTube. Here are my donuts! Blender is such an amazing program. There was definitely a learning curve, as it is a different way to approach 3D modeling than the programs I have learned.

After I modelled the donuts, I was craving donuts so badly that I ended up coming home with half a dozen of it. Maybe I should tackle non-food items next. 😆

I painted these Vessi sneakers back in last September (full story on my previous post.), and they came with me to a lot of places including travelling in Asia. The painting was still intact. Then one day I played with the puppy in the mud and dirt, it was definitely time for a wash. I was confident enough to give it a soak. But what had damaged the paintings was the magic eraser that I used to clean the white part. I accidentally rubbed the painted part. And later I noticed chunks of paint were washing off when I rinsed them. So that was how version 2.0 was born. I don’t have some of the colours anymore so I improvised and added some gold paint. The theme is still there, good thing I picked an abstract design. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I feel like during the lifespan of this pair of shoes, we will see more evolution from them. And it’s kinda fun!

Just like the last version, I did a spontaneous painting with the left over paint.

Surprisingly, I thought the last couple shots would be ruined but they mostly survived. Most of the ones I took in Calgary didn’t make it. I really should practice more with this camera. Here are some of my favourite shots with overlap exposure.

A couple weeks ago my friend and I tried out this Mosaic lamp workshop. I didn’t have any ideas for the design and I also couldn’t make up my mind on the colour scheme. So I used all the colours and focus on the theme instead. One side is the sunlight, the other is the moonlight and in the middle is the river, land and mountains. I loved how it turned out. It was a fun experience. @calgary.mosaicartstudio.ca
